PassengersA Poem by Sadani AtapattuWe meet different types of people in life. Yet, whoever they are, departure is certain. So the best thing to do is not to cling on to them and just let go as passengers getting on & off a bus.To and fro People come and go On a journey of wander so short More to meet Along life street Passengers getting on and off
Some leave scars Trap you behind bars Taking your joy away Make promises of love uncertain Yet believing then left crestfallen Scattered hopes only to remain
Some are gods Paving the way to good Drawing a smile across your face Showing what is right Lending a hand amidst plight Being there for you everyday
For the good you long Till the last halt Clinging on to them with greed The bad you wish to drop At the first bus stop Why so soon with hate
But in the life bus The driver is fate So who stays and leaves Is not yours to see Those good might leave And the bad might stay
Yet whoever the passenger In times of departure Unexpected or not maybe If the bond is strong The feeling woebegone Leaving traces of sorrow and pain
So if you attach to any Gives rise to many Longings, worries and doubts So let passengers get on And let them get off On a will of their own born by fate © 2015 Sadani AtapattuReviews
