Worlds Apart

Worlds Apart

A Poem by Sadani Atapattu
"

Its about the love story of a girl and a boy. They belong to two different races. So instead of being lovers, they have to stay just as friends, for the safety of both!!!

"

The worst state of all

Upon the edge of fall

On a hill so steep

Dwelling whilst awake in sleep

As a miracle we met

Utter coincident so sweet

Yet heart whispers to recede

With no reason nor greed

Felt as free as to fly

Before you came by

Now for my life you pledge

Pushing me to the edge

With words so clear

And doubt if insincere

Whatever you did with glee

Your hazel eyes still upon me

Your words of appease

Kept me at ease

Your constant gaze

Beckoned the love haze

Yet I saw you a stranger

Heading for danger

Out of my race

From a faraway place

So long we haven’t met

Kept in touch with me yet

Even after so long

Why now eager to long

Hope so futile

Truth so brutal

Never could we join

Two worlds we live in

Whether to trust or love

To fear nor believe

Among the throes with no bliss

Here I make my confess

To love nor choose

Neither to loose

Just as friends we used to be

May at least guard you and me
