The Phoenix

The Phoenix

A Poem by Sadani Atapattu
"

Events in Life are so similar to that of nature, that we can take those occurrences as advice for people!!

"

In my back yard

A tree mighty and proud

With green and pink

Adorning its gown

As cold passes by

Beauty no longer the frills

Branches bare yet strong

Striving through the night

Next in line lies spring life

Back to divine prosperity it flies

A phoenix rising from the ashes

In state of oblivion

Gazing at that tree

I wonder how it faces life

Better than human me

So as the phoenix I try

To lift up sorrow pain

That haunted me till now

Welcoming sun rays of happiness

On a journey of victory

In times of dark yet proceeding

Just as my adviser whom I pray

Just and only a tree

Conveying the secrets of nature

The secrets of life
