Coat of SilenceA Poem by Sadani AtapattuIn most instances of trouble in life, we choose silence as the answer, which most of the time makes the situation worst.A pause for
a while Yet for days
weeks may last Drifting
apart ties a mile Beckons
loneliness as past
A costume so
cheap For lovers,
friends and family No frills of
talk so deep Replace
words in apathy In spite of
revealing truth Admitting
one’s fault The sole way
to soothe Silence
coats them all
In disguise
of serene Amidst inner
war Trapped
midst securing name And
accepting failure sore Blocking all
ways To talk and
solve Misunderstandings
mistakes Tearing
apart love
After trying
the best To unwind
what is left If no
confess yet Silence
shall rule the rest Now no
longer the coat But the
person alone © 2014 Sadani AtapattuFeatured Review
