Cease whilst young

Cease whilst young

A Poem by Sadani Atapattu
"

This poem is about a friend who dies at a younger age. It talks about the agony the family and friends have to go through.

"

A friend so close

Too soon why chose

To leave before dawn

Of youth yet known

Your smiles of grace

And words of solace

Etched in the heart

Now left empty whilst hurt

Spoke for the right

Never gave up in plight

Amidst us all

A hero I recall

Being so great with no flaw

Yet it had to be you

And for nothing you did harm

Wondering whilst you lay calm

Was this your fate

To reach the last gate

As a hurl like no other

Even a son to your mother

Great agony we shall bear

In the life so unfair

Having faith in god we praise

To lead him to a better place

Though you may not be around

From this day onward

Forever you may live

In the hearts of those you love
