Lasting

Lasting

A Poem by Emily

Smiling as the rain subsides into a distant memory ~ Somehow learning the secret of distance ~ unbelievable strength to overcome the grip of passion ~ doubting my sacrafice ~ enslaved by justice.

Gold and silver tokens to appreciate our weakness ~ reporting my duty to serve as a slave ~ Even though that was never what I desired ~ maybe I have stepped down by choice ~ maybe it's just my turn to be taken care of.

About
The drums beat behind me. I am alone like most people - even though I live with many. You will never understand how easy it is to disengage myself from meaningless people. more..
