A Dark Gathering

A Dark Gathering

A Poem by Stephen

The entry scent

Forcing my rickety knees

Tremors of horror

They will sniff me out

So innocent

So pure

Resembling the flakes of snow

Melting against the ground

Forming tainted streams

Patronizing looks

Should I pursue?

Fear of unwittingness

I grasp it

I mimic

The verses read

The faint illumination

There it stands

The gothic cathedral

Dedicated ministers reciting

A satanic cult

Assembling not to revere him

But rather our desires

The deceit we heed

The lives we lead

A protracted psychological block

Perpetually a stone heart
