a dream of you!

i had a dream about you one night

we were running along the side of a road

bare footed but dipped in black oil

i couldn’t run as fast as you

you’d look back at me with my arms outstretched to reach you

you ran faster and laughed at me

i fell too many times, and my hands tore and grew meat-like

we came to a cliff and you finally stopped, your limbs dangling but dancing

you, smiling, all softly bared white teeth

me, hurting, with fingers oozing and red

and you took my hands in yours and licked off the blood and all the bad things

you kissed me tenderly

told me you loved me dearly

you said it was okay to let go

and I know you are the word of God

and if you aren't, then God never spoke

so I listened, so i did

I would like to start off with just wow. I don't know, it's just your words. Every single line had it's own meaning and together it formed such a moving and bittersweet feeling. I could feel longing and passion in between the lines. Yet similar to the calm before the storm. There just something in here that I just can't explain, but it's there. And that underlying fact is why I'm writing this to you now. Great job. Thanks for entering my emotion contest, and I really hope you keep writing more poems or stories like this. I would love to read them when I can.
