Night Child

Night Child

A Poem by Sabbath_Nikole
"

#2 in my mythical girls

"

Her eyes cold and pale

As she watches you

You see your choices in front of you

Her hair is, fine whisps of light

Flowing steadily down the pool of night

She sees your cares, your dreams, your fears

She hears that sound in between your ears

Dark is she amongst the night

Alone along the day she'll fight

Her heart is good, her soul pure

Yet her mind wanders from here to there

Shuffling the thoughts

Of all who care

Draining now she'll softly go

Among the trees and soft willow

Try she will but her head yet tired

Goodnight lily child and be retired

Rest your eyes, think no more

Moonlight will unlock the door

Sleep now child of the night

For you must face a burning light

WHOA!! This leaps out at you like a story, like a whole freakin' book, like a lullabye from the dark side! Feels like it was written in a dream, in a burst of intuition. Beneath the ominous vision you're created there's radiance....Damn cool! ㋡

I like the ghostly feel of the poem. Your description made the child come alive in your words. I like her wandering and the ending. A excellent poem.
