LoyaltyA Poem by Sabbath_NikoleWho knew such a simple thing? Could prove to be so consuming? So easy to destroy Disintegrates Left without a trace A challenge, this thing called loyalty Where does yours lie? Family? A lover? Friends? Where does yours lay his mangy head to rest? Loyalty A fickle thing he is Tricking you into believing He is easy to possess He does not speak of the tension between families Nor the temporary placement of friends and lovers He does not speak Of how easy it is To stab a winged one While his great back is turned But if such a being was easy to possess Why would we strive toward it? Why try and fail time and time again? Attempting, apologizing groveling for forgiveness For failed loyalty Wishing for more fruitless chances We all get them But how many have we got Till the all run out Till trust is scarce And lies run amuck Define our lion Our chance Our privilege to be better than before To prove ourselves To be apart of the elite Those who are trusted undeniably Try, come, and join the loyal I challenge you Test me Test my friend loyalty
