Night FlightA Poem by Sabbath_NikoleA poem wrote in my half-wakefullnessI dream of things unknown I lay awake I finally know Whose life’s at stake My own I sit, I idle, wait Finally my dream is more I’ve fallen Deep into my fiery core Ablaze with light Drenched in love Soaring on silent wings Deep into my velvet night Splicing the stars in two Because my darling You’ve given me you You were the key To unlock my spirit To dream again To dream again I can dance again Lift myself Off broken dreams And finally, finally see The pounding in my skull recedes Blinding out all empathy Rising about mortal emotion Delving into the devil’s deception Unscathed A breed all my own Finally, alone Apart of nothing Flying, dreaming Scrying with stars Among the night Sheer hope Belonging Loved The wind cool beneath My beating wings Moonlight glimmers Along their tawny blue feathers Beautiful I Am Beautiful I am Life’s creation But soon falling As all things do Drifting, gently down No fear No panic here Just gliding Softly down Glowing I loved I dreamed And like all thing born of life I must wake I wake to a cold night Blue moon shining Wind whispering Teasing, torturously Through my open window Gently revealing The lonely sky I wake To a cold bed A closed door And feathers Floating across The floor
