Poem about being a mother

"

My job is to protect
To shield.
Make sure that all is safe.
To clean up after a long day.
Chase away the monsters,
Wipe the tears off your cheeks.
To clean up your boo-boos.
Love you.
Keep you warm.
To teach you.
Let you learn on your own.
Be your own person.
My job is my life.
I’m a mother.
And I have to let you be free.
Spread your wings,
Become an adult.
Make mistakes,
Have your heart broken.
Shed tears.
But most of all,
My job is loving you.
Even through the arguments,
The mistakes,
The tears,
The heartache.
I am a mother.
