Chapter 5A Chapter by Dylan (S.T)When Brianna closed the door, I thought she was going to take me straight to my afternoon activities, but to my surprise she took me to an empty room and closed the door. "Hey, I was wondering..." She paused for a short moment, "why do you only answer me, why not your friends like Emily, and Jess..." She stopped talking suddenly noticing I was about to start crying again. "I'm sorry." She looked upset. "No.. I won't cry... I won't..." I thought to myself, wiping my tears away angrily. "Are you ok?" Concern suddenly spread across her face. I didn't make any motions, and she took my silence as reason enough to end the conversation and head to my first activity.
On Saturdays the residents of Bears Den have television time after breakfast for an hour and a half. By the time we arrived there was only fourty-five minutes left, and naturally when I entered the room almost all of the eyes in the rec room, darted my way. Unlike this morning, I didn't hide behind Brianna, but I did cover my face with my hair, and look down the whole way to the spot where my friends and myself usually sit.
"Hey Bri!" Emily said in her usual cheery voice, if you want we will watch her from here, so you can go eat or whatever." "Thanks Em." Brianna smiled quickly before looking at me again. "Eva, if you need me just ask one of the staff to come get me, I'll be back in a half hour, have fun!" She smiled again, before waving back at us and leaving the room. The room was unusally quiet today, but that may have just been because my mind was elsewere. Over and over the last thing I could remember before I got hospitalized kept playing over and over in my head. "I'll never give up... I'll never leave you alone" Suddenly I began to cry, but I simply just hid my face in my knees so no one would know I was so upset, and waited for Brianna to come get me. "Hey girls, have fun watching tv?" "Yeah, mostly we talked though." Emily laughed, "but Eva has been like that for the past twenty minutes..." "Thank you for telling me," she kneeled down next to me and gently put her hand on my shoulder, "hey, are you ok?" "NO!!" I screamed in my head, but I just nodded my head and stood up after quickly wiping my face with my shrt sleeve. "Ok, well we will see you in a little bit for lunch girls, have a good day." Brianna said to Emily and a few of the other people who sat with us. © 2011 Dylan (S.T)Author's Note
