Breakout

Breakout

A Poem by Rachael

"

I want to play in a band with a crazy name;
To live a life outside my own.
I want to break the shell that holds me in and contains all I am capable of accomplishing.

Sometimes all we need is that first chord of music,
that first resonating sound which can do the extraordinary;
Rupture the thickest bubble in which we surround ourselves with.

For we are too petrified to shatter it alone.

I want to play in a band with crazy people
just so I can be the voice of reason
and experience the power that responsibility is supposed to supersede.

Love it!! I've always wanted to do this too, in fact, I think this is a dream shared by most teenagers. Great job on capturing the feeling so strongly with so few words.

Amazing and strong words. I like your desire and strength of voice and dreams in the poem. A excellent poem.

Worked for me.
You should be standing on a soapbox screaming
with a bullhorn!
