Forget for Now

Forget for Now

A Poem by Rachael

Close my eyes to everything blue and open them to something new.
It's the beginning, yet the end of what was and what will be.
Please open my eyes to something good and better
And close them to what used to be bad.
Oh how lovely it would be to just forget.
Forget you and your face,
your eyes and your smile.
Wipe you from my memory....
And until next year, you will be gone.

So beautiful and bittersweet... to look ahead to life and all that's good... to let go of someone so close, trying to forget... Very well written!

You wrote this off the top of your head? I'm genuinely surprised. This was really lovely.
The ending especially was great.
This whole poem has this sad aura about it. I like it; it conveys those emotions very well.

If this was off the top of yer head... I'm amazed. Great work, sweetie! Keep it up. I'll be there for your book-signing at Barnes and Noble, k?
