Forest FireA Poem by Zach ColgateThese are lyrics that I wrote, expressing feelings of uworthiness in regards to love interests.(Verse 1) You are the sun in the day And I am the dark of the night Horizons hold me at bay While children grow in your light
(Chorus 1) We dance the dance Of what could never be Love without a glance From your eyes to me
(Verse 2) You are the trees the Lord grew I am the fire my father made Too close; these arms will burn you I pray the wind blows till I fade
(Chorus 2) We sing the song Of what should never be Love that would be wrong To waste your purity
(Verse 3) A daughter of Heaven could never love A wayward son of the Earth Dogs can't fly with the birds above And dirt can't change what its worth © 2008 Zach ColgateAuthor's Note
