he used to come home late

he used to come home late

A Poem by Ryn

he used to come home late/after the sun went to sleep/before the lights began to flicker/he used to come home late/after mother closed her eyes/before my eyes became sleepy/he used to come home late/after the tv began playing reruns/before the neighbors stopped playing with fire/he used to come home late/after the coffee quit doing it's job/before my midnight snack was finished/he used to come home late/after the dogs howled at the mood/before the cats fell asleep at my feet/he used to come home late/after the tub had dried from my nightly baths/before the roof held bullet holes/he used to come home late/after mother yelled too much/before i could ever calm down/he used to come home late/after we had painted the rooms with color/before the front door was forced to the ground/he used to come home late/after mothers last cup of burning liquid/before i cleaned up the kitchen/he used to come home late/after sleeping with a girl/before mother ever knew/he used to come home late/after i began to stay at dads house/before i learned how to take apart pencil sharpeners/he used to come home late/after the sun went to sleep/before the lights began to ficker/

That was great. The use of '/' makes for a great fast-paced read. I never saw anything like it and I absolutely loved it.
