Translucent paper

Translucent paper

A Poem by mendedwords

This is about half of desire half of need

Half about women half heartedly

Slaying words over open wounds,

Half way to the wounds created by prideful men

This is halfway about hope

Halfway saturated in self sorrow.

Tomorrow and yesterday's yesterday,

Unable to remember last night.

Halfway through living, halfway

Fantasizing about what's next.

A knife can penetrate halfway through

A black ink pin; while pinning

A portrait.

Family, life, racial unease, time and

Time until everything revolves.

Halfway about poetry and halfway

About being strong enough to communicate

The deepest fears through spoken word

Half yesterday half now.

Half of a pin to paper

Ritual. Manifested to make from nothing.

"halfway about being strong enough to communicate"

so profound...

this poem halfway makes me sad and halfway makes me smile..with yesterday's irony half in my mind and half out...

everything revolves as you said...half yesterday and half now...

damn this is good.

and i like the idea of the ritual...the poet creating, feeling...spreading words like drops of holy water, and we are blessed to read the words as part of the ritual.
