City of the same mindA Poem by mendedwords
On bright nights in Ohio if I were to
look far enough I'd gaze into the city lights of Atlanta. I'd see the busy streets at 2 AM. The fever of success brushed passed my window as I walked up the stairs. Not a longing as my wife does but a memory of how I came to Ohio. More family hear more familiar faces, not the stinch of the failure that carried me to the tri state. Cold air freezes the memories as I tune in to the crunch of snow beneath my feet. Just a few miles from the peach state. But all along I longed to reside. I miss that city Atlanta at times but that I cannot say in this house of pride © 2013 mendedwords |
