Living room, TV, not so loud, at 8 it's Chuck, at 9 it's Heroes, at 10 it's Medium.

The news. There's Mad Cow, car bombs, death, a school shooting, mayhem, rape, murder, war, crime, and the Superbowl summary.

Nothing new about the news.

I also understand the simplicity of what you are implying here. The monotonous quality of our day to day lives. Monday through Friday, nine to five. Never seem to get enough sleep either. lol. As the reviewer below notes, I too liked the reference to Heroes, because I love the show too. =o)
