Time Not Remembered

Time Not Remembered

A Poem by rutherford

Down a nameless street

in a forgotten part of town

Behind high granite walls

and a padlocked gate

lies a dusty courtyard

in pale light

with brittle brown leaves

swept into a corner

long ago

by the last wind

from an abandoned age.

interesting with that line compacted...feels like a memory locked away...one we just can't get back to...

those autumn leaves that once showed someone or something that is in its twilight, is now brittle brown and mostly forgotten.

i think that really does happen when we put up walls...we padlock our heart for protection.

nicely spoken, my friend.
