INTO DARKNESS

INTO DARKNESS

A Poem by rutherford

Every day

makes a difference

but inside

the darkened library

I lost that knowledge

you need to open yourself up to the world so you can see it more clearly. we tend to lose a lot of beauty in our world by overlooking it. things that truly make a difference to you in your life will always be with you. those things will change and make you who you are, no matter how slight the change.
even if you cannot recall what that difference may be, who you are is proof of it's existence.

I really like this poem. The idea of a darkened library is very enlightening. All of the knowledge and information is there, you just cannot read the pages. it is as if you lost the information that sits along the shelves. but like i said, the books you can touch and feel are proof of its existence. that should be enough because what really matters it what you do now.

i guess what i am saying is, good job. keep it up. haha

Thanks Firestone. Will use this one with another for Verse Virtual.
Could it be perhaps that you are surrounded by so much knowledge in the library that your perception of your own knowledge becomes skewed to the point that you think you have lost what you really have? That was my first impresson of your words, but you always leave a lot of dreaming room in your poems so I'm certain additional readings would stimulate other ideas. Fascinating, as usual.

when we are blind to what is around us, all that we can learn, we become alone with the darkness of our own mind...and knowledge eludes us.

Celebrate the difference when you can, I guess. Keep a diary if you must.

Good thought. I've been keeping a diary/journal on a semi-regular basis for 33 years.
