THE PHONE

THE PHONE

A Poem by rutherford
"

Part of the digital age and other madness

"

I hate the phone

most times

It rings and no good can come of it

Problems for you to solve

The whole world can get at you

Cell phones are your own portable world of of trouble

They make a phone for old people with big buttons

I want a good news phone

where the calls bring news that your novel has been accepted and

you've won the Nobel Prize for something you don’t remember.

An squeaky blow horn, the phone
but it also brings me this poem

A phone bearing only good news... wouldn't that be wonderful. I do not like the phone, either, and I shudder at its ring! Well penned, John!

Heh! ...couldn't agree more!! Perhaps if we wait long enough Apple (or more likely Google) will strike up a deal with Walmart and they'll become commodity items. The angularity of a stylish Dick Tracy aside, it had better be selectively good news; and free - none of these damn subscription services (give away the watch and charge for the time).

Now..you're pushing it with the red button...while not just have a direct line to the President and the Pope...for that matter...
