A Poem by Ruth Morris

...the little girl inside me cries
(so where do you keep her safe?)
I hold her in the palm of my hand
(what do you tell her)
I tell her I'm sorry for all the things she has to go through
(what else do you tell her)

I tell her that I love her, that she doesn't need to fear,
because I will be watching her,
year after hellish year
and when we finally meet some day,
I'll look into her eyes...
then she'll hold my hand and say,
"the little girl inside me cries"

Ruth,

This is an outstanding write. I really enjoyed it. I love that you include two voices in this, very unique.

You may enjoy reading "My Heart I Fill With Love (story song)" (I marked this piece mature only because it deals with abuse and some associated symptoms, and I didn't want 10 year old's stumbling across it)

A very good write.

100/100
