Is it possible to form that kind of connection in such a fleeting moment? As I understand it anam cara means to be open and trusting.

Yes it is possible... havnt you ever had it where you are walking down the street and catch eyes wit.. read moreYes it is possible... havnt you ever had it where you are walking down the street and catch eyes with a complete stranger.. a for just a few seconds.. you have that feeling of recognition.. of knowing them..
Very interesting to study the nature of soul searching. Sometimes you can feel that heartbeat with yours when you least expect it. And you are right.... just for a second. And I wonder, is it possible to meet and live with that someone you describe or is this just a fantasy to be found in poetry...

Thanks Gary x x I believe its maybe a soul of someone in our past.... Happy New Year Babe
The notion of 'THAT second' is wonder full. It is exciting and lovely to think such instant love strikes can happen. Yet it is also sad that they end so swiftly. Though they end in a beautiful way, too, without any protracted bitterness, pain, confusion and mess. So this is my favourite part >>
You may never see them again.
But in that second, a soul friend.
Never to be forgotten, an awakening,
Such awareness, What a blend !
Wonderfully emotive. While I have personally never experienced this type of encounter first hand ... (yet), this piece allows the reader to readily conjure up the images to the extent that YES, I do know what it would feel like.
I particularly the clear trigger point being the eyes locking, with the resulting actions spiralling from that single non-physical collision point.
Eyes are so powerful and yet so personally unique. They spark off so many emotional reactions, long before the "soul/heart" is permitted to take over.
While some may see the first stanza an almost throwaway introduction or scene setter, I also think you have been very perceptive in summing up today's manic society - where no-one seems to have the time to look around and take stock of their surroundings .... I think if they did there could be a lot more eye contact and a lot more "Anam acara" moments.
A stimulating introduction into your poetry for me.
Musty.

Musty , you are so sweet.. Thankyou for taking the time to review my work
nice ... as rare as this is in one's life, it may happen to everyone at least once. Good poem to illuminate an indefinable moment tha may have vexed many.
Straight you shoot the arrow,Pretty dam good Rib,Arm drawn back wrist under your chin ,a strong breath, steady eye,cat gut silhouette string pulled taught across the breasts, tight shades of green ,cling through the trees to your eyes, drape your silhouette, still in these woods, too still ,I feel the chill, a warning wave of death,I step aside ,as our souls collide ,And my eyes bite you ,adrenalin, plants your seed,
You let me, you make me , Now I live!
I have always love to doodle with words on paper, whether in my diary or with poetry or stories.... have not done it in years.. so im taking it up again, very therapeutic, i must say... really enjoyi.. more..
