A Loss to WordsA Poem by RustyA Loss to Words Russ Polsky
Just lying there Creation The very essence of the heart which beats inside my chest It is not the thump thump that is heard or felt But the space between each The silent space between each beat I crave
She came alive in my words I attempted to push in beside her And writing myself in She was lost to my words
I came to find her But instead found myself staring back at me Not like a mirror For our smiles different Mine diffident And his suppressing surly anger Angry at A loss to words
The more I wrote The further she retreated The deeper I looked The shallower I became No I wonder what it is I become And I am A loss to words
Now there is nothing that will describe it This latent feeling that crawls through my bones No earthly statement to relate the starvation When through my words she roamed
No longer sated No longer hungry No longer longing No longer lonely Not desperate Not committed Whatever it is A loss to words © 2012 RustyReviews
