Daze like this

Daze like this

A Poem by Rusty

There are moments sublime
Full of heavevnly bliss
I realize you're gone
Then there's daze like this

Days never ending
Full of all the planning and the schemes
Passion never ending
Lovers  love unseen

Gentle warm laughter
Falls upon the floor
The fingertips complete power
To leave me wanting more

Youth in that feeling
When we knew that we were home
Wherever we stopped
Wherever we roamed

What I hold in the mirror
Gristled old and pissed
Smashing quick what looks back
Bloody          fist

Dead eyes with dead hatred
For that which I've become
Screaming at the ceiling
I cry out to no one

The hours move swiftly forward
Bitter laughs the clock
Alone in the cold kitchen
In circles I pace I walk

I've no resolution
To resolve all that I missed
No satisfaction to move forward
My vessel has foundered she lists

Not hungry I start eating
The crumbs you left on the floor
Just to be closer
To where you stood before

Your picture offers no reward
From the sound of your voice
Dead eyes I stare I take you in
I haven't any choice

So I sitting dead eyes staring
Breathing in and breathing out
I'd rather end here and now
Than live here more without

The midnight it approaches
I've no want cept for this
Never to have known you
And never daze like this

"Daze like this"...brilliant. I have been there, my friend. I always appreciate poetry that sings to our soul, that is so easy to relate to, that lets us look into someone else's mirror. Well done!
