A fools night

A fools night

A Poem by Rusty

she sleeps while I stir in the buffeting winds, the winds of my soul and the wind of the night. Night taking from me that which at once belongs to me and yet has never been mine, indeed a dream. I long for it, long for her. She is all I ever wanted.

But now she eviscerates me in my restless sleepless nights, They have returned to stalk me once again.

I know the pain of the restless poet. I know the Starry Starry Night. I know the hopeless lot of an unrequited burning love unreturned.

I know not sleep, I know not love, I know a fools heart.

A fool...

I know.

Hmm....So short yet so deeply moving. I like your use of winds, dreams, the night and a fool. Well done!
