lauding

lauding

A Poem by Rusty

Too often we languish

Caught in a world long forgotten

By everyone

But the mirror

At yet we laud the past

As if it would rescue us

From an fate uncertain

the future baying at our door

A loss causes poetic ferver

A find even more fans the flame

Presented in harsh reality

Contained within our brains

Surefooted stagger forward

A slippery slope we climb

In the end a lost footing remembered

Summiting just to forget the climb

Rushing downward the speed is increasing

As the valley floor rushes up to greet us

We laud its stone

Until our hard hearts break its floor
