Dreamer of the People

Lissomely, she glided and danced between the flowers and through the waist-high grasses that graced the meadow. The miasma of the marsh at the bottom of the hill followed her, as the echoes of impending fate are wont to do.
Lost in the palette of colors and fragrances, she found the distraction she was in need of. Gracefully dancing, a butterfly triggered her reverie of her youth and all the events that had brought her to her role as Dreamer of the People.
That boggy stench snapped her back to the present. She prayed to First Woman that she would be worthy to join the Spiral.
As a Dreamer, she had employed every apotropaic technique she knew…and for naught. She surveyed the panorama of her Clan’s Holdings… and heaved a sigh of surrender. Steeling herself, she prepared to embrace the rictus of her Destiny.

I can see her on top of the rise and feel both the fanciful euphorea and the weight of her obligations twisting and swirling about her soul
