PeaceA Poem by James O'RourkeSome image play. Trying to be a little more descriptive with my writing while evoking emotions.Only within a deep dark can it be found Hidden among the scattered piles Of paper and beer bottles The cigarette butts holding voice Just above a whisper The girl on her side breathing softly A curl of love between her lips It's in the cat's patience As it eyes unsuspecting toes The rocking chair lilting Back and forth with the moon's rise and fall The settling of a tea kettle Lifted off the heat It's in the first peach of July The juice, the pulp, the pit Leaves dancing in the fall Celebrating a summer well lived Watching you lay in the winter And rise and stretch in the spring © 2015 James O'RourkeAuthor's Note
