Title Still In The Works (IDEAS???)A Poem by James O'RourkeYou can't always get what you wantI want things I want to want things Wanting to want things is something I want I want to be rich In garbage and build a mountain Of garbage-like things To proclaim my kingship over the undesirable I want to fly just to be set aflame To make funny faces at birds And mock them as I rise higher To lick the sun as my wing disintegrate I want the world's oceans in my belly So that I may capture those underwater creatures And put them in various swimming pools stacked Upon each other in my backyard I want the ability to defy gravity So that I may stand upright on my ceiling And call gravity to its mistake That it had been working in the wrong direction all along I want a leash to tie around my head So I may take my mind for a walk And tell it to heel If it starts getting out of hand I want a couch to fall hopelessly in love with me It would cradle my body In its strong arms and caress my body hair Causing me to giggle softly into the cracks between its cushions © 2015 James O'Rourke |
