Friend In My Pocket

Friend In My Pocket

A Poem by James O'Rourke
"

So that's where you put them...

"

Little friend in my pocket

My miniature pet,

I keep you with me

Wherever I go.

Should you munch holes

My suckling baby,

I will sew your mouth

Shut with pieces of string.

Should you kick and scratch

My fussy young one,

I will bind your legs

Together with unforgiving twine.

Should you see monsters in the dark

My fearful ally,

I will pluck your eyes

Out with jagged fingernails.

Should you defecate

My little darling,

I will plug your a*s

Tight with a rusty thimble.

If you were to die

My dearest friend,

I'm afraid I would cry the days away

Until another friend I would find.
