Eindride

Eindride

A Poem by Runo N. Savel

My shadow screams a name that is not mine own

It belongs not to a soul that I have ever known

“Eindride!” it will yell, “Eindride!” it will cry

As if the name’s bearer will longingly reply:

“I am back from my journey; I will leave thee no more!

From now on, the world we will together explore!

My hand will always be thine, and thy be mine

Our futures are one; our stars will combine

Dismiss me not, for I tell thee none but verity

Amain take my hand, eke forget thine austerity!

My versant hands will guide thee through all

There is much to see before death doth befall”

The screams of my shadow cannot comprehend

I cannot help it in finding its Eindride pretend
