Scars

Scars

A Poem by Runo N. Savel
"

Free-form, I suppose.

"

The time is almost here

I need to tell you

I cannot hide it anymore

I see you hurting yourself

Throwing your love away

You say there is no one else

Look right in front of you

Look into my eyes

Can you not see?

My heart beats for you

It hurts me to see you

To see you hurt yourself

Creating scars on your own heart

Because you are blind to my affection

You overlook the water of my eyes

For the fire in his

You disregard the strength of water

And the weakness of fire

You see not hope in love

You see enjoyment in uncertainty

It hurts to see you throw away

All I could give you

And now the hour has passed

I have said what I need

Very emotionally charged piece. THese poems that are directed towards someone seem to have a hidden effect that other general poems don't have. I do have one suggestion and that would be to delete the very last line. Not needed and the poem would be more effective without it. Just a thought.
