Sin Does Not ExistA Poem by runningturtle87This is a thought on the idea of what sin is, if it exists then why and how?
I cannot understand the concept of sin,
that somewhere in the universe a God looks down and judges us for what we do compared to what. Here is this and there is that. How is one activity better then another? A plane drops a bomb on a city killing thousands and this is war. Two people of the same sex share their lives and this is somehow inexcusable? This man has sex with this woman under any circumstances and God approves of this, and an ocean is filled with poison to kill the fish to save a buck and this is perfectly fine since its business. We see those people as doing the unpardonable, and we see these people as needing God's patience. We see ourselves as trying to be good and others doing their own version of the same as earning the fiery pit of hell somehow. Religion has lost its way as far as I can tell. There is no reason to call into question the actions of others when we ourselves are no closer to perfection. Here is this and there is that. Both are equally close to God if he is unconditionally loving, and both equally far away if he is not. I hear people say that this is wrong, and they've read it in the Bible. Not one place does the Bible say to make Christ or Jesus our personal Lord and Savior, no not once. Nowhere does it say that being born again is the same as being redeemed or that either is equal to salvation.
What we have is one generation after another leaning on the broken book reports of others and not one person reading the text as it is, whole and complete. Read it for yourself, a book at a time. The text does not say what we have been told; nowhere does the Bible say that our faith will redeem us. If we are
so willing to bet that it does, then why has our great faith not made us sinless? runningturtle87 © 2013 runningturtle87Featured Review
