The Pain Before

The Pain Before

A Poem by Courtney(:

The devil came prodding back into my life
Bringing his demons and hell with him
They had never been gone, just waiting in the shadows to attack
They tore me apart at the seams and brought me back to my wretched old ways

I welcomed those feelings with open arms
The anger, the depression, the pain
I took it all in like a drug I had been craving for months

I could feel his demons pulling me apart
The tears rolling softly down my face and into my broken heart
I took in every inch of him and then sighed at the sight of her face

The devil sneered at me as I slowly turned away from him toward her
She pulled me from hell just as she had before
Taught me love and kindness
Then gave me a new meaning to life without him waiting the corner as he had before

Very intersesting. The battle against our own personal demaons is sometimes a never ending battle. Sounds like you have found your angel - good for you.
