My Love

My Love

A Poem by Tessa

Promises of what's to come,

Regrets of the past.

Hiding from the morning sun,

Why did you leave so fast?

Some kisses here, I love you's there,

They lay in shattered ruin.

I don't believe you ever cared,

About what i was doing.

Cause all i ever wanted was

For you to understand,

The reasons why i hide from love,

With this dull blade in hand.

Everytime i let you in,

Love cuts me like a knife.

Give me another reason to

dissolve the fading light.

Cause it's fading much faster now,

You've nothing left to borrow.

You've taken all I've ever had,

And replaced it with sorrow.

But I'll never stop loving you,

Though my love's unrequited.

Cause everday i find a new,

Way to say you're forgiven...

This kind of hits home for me, I've been in something like this. A lot of sadness and emotion from this poem. I enjoyed the read. Nice job.
