New Kid

When I got home from the diner, my mom met me at the gate. I got out the limo, which picked me up from the diner.

“Hey hon.” She greeted in her usual happy tone.

“Hey mom, can I talk to you and dad?”

“Oh, your dad isn’t here right now. But you can talk to me.” She said as we walked to the house, which is an actual castle. A royal family use to live here before moving to England.

“Okay, well when I w...” She cut me off.

“Honey, why do you smell like lemon? And you’re wet.”

“Long story, okay so at the diner I met this waitress name Anna who thought I was Aunt Mary.” I finally said.

“Well you do look like your aunt...” my mom said wrapping a towel around me. “You should hurry and get ready for school.”

“Okay, I'm just wondering why she would say that. Did aunt Mary ever lived here?”

“Maybe, she did travel a lot.”

“And lastly, why did we move here?”

“Well, it just felt right like it was calling out to us. Weird, right?” I shrugged.

“Is this about a boy?” She suddenly asked.

“What! No!” She crossed her arms and gave a stern look. “No! I have to go get ready for school.”

When Richard dropped me off in the limo, Drew walked up to me.

“So how’s does it feel to be driven to your own school in your own limo from your own castle?” He asked.

“Ha, I'm a rich black girl. Is that what you’re trying to say?” I said sarcastically.

“Yup.”

“Whatever, you can’t even talk to me. We made a deal at my party, so I answered yours but you want answer mine.” I said walking toward the school.

“What question?”

“Goodbye.” I said still walking.

“Fine, because I thought you looked interesting.” He finally said. I stopped and turn to face him.

“Interesting? Why?”

“Because, when you stepped out your limo the first day, you were frowning and thinking about mix emotions and feelings. And I thought that was interesting so I tried to find out more so I focus on you.” He explained.

“Wait you know what I was thinking, so you’re a mind reader.’

“And freezer.”

“Freezer?” I asked.

“Yea, you see that water bottle.” He said pointing to a water bottle in a boy’s hand. He held his hand up in its direction. It instantly turned to ice.

“Wow, that’s cool.” I commented as we started walking to the entrance.

“Yea, so what's your power?”

“If I knew I would tell you. Anyway how did you figure out that you had powers?”

“Well it’s not that complicated to figure out that you’re a mind reader, when you have all these voices in your head. But the school helps me focus on one voice at a time, now I can control it. And they also figured out that I’m a freezer. This school is an awesome school.”

“Wow you talk a lot.” I suddenly said. He laughed

“From all that I said, that’s what you got.”

“No, I heard everything you said, I just like joking. So when do you know your powerful?” I asked as we turn the corner inside the school.

“Well your born magical, and as you get older you try and encounter new things. And when you’re scared and put your hands out something happens.” He answers.

“Interesting, so where’s my power?”

“Well just tell the teachers “power” and they’ll help.” He said stopping in front of my locker. I looked at his eyes, which looked glassy, I kept staring. “And if you need more help, how about I help you after school at the park.” He said.

“Yea, sure.” I answered.

“Cool.”

“Hey Lisa, cute outfit its freezing cold.” A random locker short purple color hair chick said talking about my icy blue skinny jeans, tank, low boots, make-up, and jewelry. And don’t forget my neatly straight hair. “You and Mr. Freeze power make a great couple.”

“Oh...um were just friends.” Drew quickly said.

“And I have a boyfriend.” I said finally confessing about Trey. The girl just smirked.

“Um… I should get to my locker.” He said backing up.

“Yea.”

“See you at the park.” He said turning the corner. My brain suddenly started working. I then realize that Trey and I were going to the park after school.

And speaking of Trey here he comes, how am I going to tell him?

“So you invited Drew?” That was easy.

“Yea, so you saw?”

“And heard, so Nancy thinks you guys are a good couple. Yea she's an in path, she feels what you feel.”  He said. Dang...I kind of hate this school now.

“Maybe she was feeling someone else and thought it was us.” I tried.

“She's an advanced in path, she knows who’s feeling what.”

“Okay I can explain….” I said getting a little dizzy. “wwww….”            Then everything went black.

I woke up staring up at a white ceiling. I looked around. I was in the nurse office. Suddenly Trey ran up to me.

“Is my girlfriend okay?” He asked talking to the nurse who was dressed in all white, from the hair to the white shoes, standing over me.

“Girlfriend? She loves me.” Drew protested coming out of nowhere.

“She told Nancy she had a boyfriend.” Trey said not looking away from me.

“While she said that, she was thinking of me.”

“No she wasn’t.” Trey said now looking at Drew.

“She! Was!” He exclaimed stepping closer to Trey.

“No she wasn’t.”Trey said getting angrier. You could see the veins in his neck pop out.

“Don’t fight!” I screamed, but they kept at it.

“Don’t fight.”

Then I woke up screaming:

“Don’t fight!”

“You okay?” Trey asked. I nodded looking around the room. I think I'm in the nurse office, I assume cause of the door says nurse office.

“What happened?” I asked him as I sat up straight.

“Well Raven, a new student, touched you and stole your memory.” He answered pointing over to a girl, who brown hair and was wearing to much black make-up. She was sitting by the door.

“Stole my powers?”

“I said I was sorry. I hate my powers.” She commented.

“What is it?” I asked sitting up.

“I'm a taker and a shape shifter. It’s a perfect combo, I could steal your memory and change into you and live your life. But stealing memories only last a few minutes considering how long I touch you. And that’s why you fainted.” She explained. “And another thing, so you are a rich black girl.”

“First, I'm not only black.”

“She's white too.” Trey added.

“And second, what's up with the make-up?”

“Well I'm an actress and as soon as I was done with the final take, my parents said we were moving here.” She answered as the nurse walked in.

“You’re okay to go to lunch but after, I advise you to come back until the end of the day. Okay?”

“Okay.” We all answered.

They got up.

“Carry me.” I said to Trey.

“What?” Trey asked turning toward me.

“Carry me.’ I repeated.

“You know I didn’t get the power of super strength.” He joked.

“Ha, funny, aren’t you a football player? But anyway I meant with your power. Please…” I begged.

“Fine, but if you fall it’s not my fault.” He said. I started lifting from the nurse bed.

“Wait!” Raven said starling Trey, so I did a sharp drop. “What power is that?”

“Mover.” He answered her as we started walking out the door, Trey backwards while Raven walked forward next to him.

“I hate that my powers haven’t grown into me yet.’

“Shh and enjoy the ride.” Trey said. “You know it’s easy to walk backwards since I have the power to see if I fall and who’s coming.”

I rolled my eyes and shook my head. We finally got to the lunch room.

“Put me on the table.” I order.

“So bossy.” Trey joked as he sat me on top of the middle table, where no one was.

“I guess we now know who wear the pants in this relationship.” Raven said and I laughed.

“Shh.” Trey commented. I grabbed Raven hand and pulled her up next to me.

“This is my new best friend, be nice.” I said. “Okay everyone listen!” I screamed, but it was too loud for them to hear me.

“I’ll help.” Raven said turning into a red hot Ferrari “It’s weightless.”      

“Dude I love you, this car...wow.” I commented while Trey nodded with agreement. Everyone soon turned to look at us.

“Okay since I have your attention, I just found out that this school is full with “freaks”. No offence. So to help you guys train, I've made this game up,” I explained.”Do anyone have a power to make a circle or burn.”

“I do.” A girl, with red hair finally said. “I'm lava.”

“Cool, give me your finger.” I said when she finally walks up to us. I helped her up the table. “Everyone back up.”

After they did, I took hold of her finger and burned a circle in the floor in the center of the café. And what a big circle it was.

“Don’t worry lunch ladies. I'll call someone to fix it. Okay you guys are going to battle each other, first we’ll battle with power against no power.” I explained. “So Treymon Silver vs. Drew … um sorry I don’t know your last name!” I announced.

“Simon.” The lava power girl whispered to me.

“Treymon Silver vs. Drew Simon!” I yelled.

“What?!” Trey said pulling me down from the table.

“Dude, it’ll be easy, just move him out the circle… Or if you lose your powers…and look Drew is up for it.”

“I am not up for this.” Drew said reaching us.”Lisa what's going on?”

“Let’s go in the circle, I’ll explain.” I said pushing them into the circle. “Everyone these two have to make the other one get out the circle to win. So to figure out who can’t us their powers, Drew heads or tail?”

“Tail.” He answered. I flung the nickel, which someone handed me, in the air. It landed on Tail.

“Tail it is, Trey no using your power.”

“What!”

“Go!!” I said ranging the bell, which Raven had turned into.

The match lasted five minutes. Drew didn’t know how to use his freezing power since there was no visible water. So Trey picked him up on his shoulders and put him out the circle. Wait I lied that was only one minute. Suddenly the school bell rung.

“Well do more n Monday.” I announced.
