Hey Man

Hey Man

A Poem by Matt Byrum

Man, you think you got what I want
Cause we’re fans of that band.
I know that you try
But the way you get by
Just isn’t how I want to live.

I'm wearin my big black boots,
You see me in my pressed white shirt
I got ties,
They could make a business man cry,
And you think I'm ahead of the curve .

Hey Man
by Matt Byrum
Man, you must be deluded.
You don’t know
How when I found out you lied
When I could have died,
There ain’t nothin you can say to take it all back.

How dare you tell me what’s what?
How dare you think you have my respect?
You must be high.
As much as I’d like to try
I feel no sympathy for you, sir.

Man, if you are what’s hip,
Then I’m out of joint.
I’m a square
Who can dare,
If can’t look me in the eye, then leave me be.
