ContagionA Poem by rudelizard"Contagion is simply a false belief - not a law that governs your health or well-being" - unknownI’m praying for a shield To endure this relapse, Entrenched in the fight Against a malignant grasp, Woeful pleas drift Amidst the toxic plumes, Ill-conceived in their attempt To repeal the consumed, Hope is the prime target Maimed from the soul, Budding deep in my sternum Lays the pestilent mold, A microscopic paradox Impulsively feeds, When anemic self-control Yields to disease, In perpetual unrest Sifting ash from my bones, Cauterize the remains Until they harden to stone, I vow to no longer Play host to the strain, Lord, exhume the contagion Or shall I bewilder in pain, © 2015 rudelizardReviews
