Violins and Pianos

Violins and Pianos

A Poem by Ruby Moon

A lone note playing in the distance,

Vibrating thru your soul…

The cry of a violin,

The bow pulled across its neck.

A melody, a symphony of sounds,

A cluster! A group!

The harmony of a piano…

Two hands moving in perfect harmony.

A long cry,

A long note,

A lonely sound…

The violin…

The cheer of a group,

A cascading wall of melody,

A full-bodied sound,

The piano…

Both instruments…

Like a mirror.

Like a mirror,

Both instruments…

Reflects life and its players…

WOw to find a poem from you that was posted 2 years is amazing. And to see and understand what your thought process was like why translating 2 musical instruments that you must love the sound of is breath taking. I love this piece and now I can say two years ago I read one of her masterpieces. Great job.

True, a violin is only as good as the musicianwho weilds it :) and a poem as good as the poet who writes it.
