Night Time

Night falls…

 

I lose my sanity.

Emotions wash over me,

Breaking me.

 

Tears fall for no apparent reason.

No explanation, nothing!

The sun sets…

 

Restless I lie on my bed,

Trashing and turning,

Clawing myself.

 

Trying to remain in control.

There are only shadows and darkness…

I can’t see the light anymore.

 

Artificial light hurts my eyes,

I can’t remember the light of day…

Not when the darkness come.

 

Hurt! Pain! Torment!

The stretches swell and bleed, but still…

It can’t overwhelm the pain inside

 

Tormenting night!

Laughing demons!

Leave me alone…

 

Come day, come sun.

Help me end this night.

Don’t set, don’t abandon me…

 

Only five minutes,

In five minutes I lost my sanity…

So easy is to die…

 

The sun rises,

Forget everything about the night…

A resemblance of normalcy resumes.

 

But…the night comes again

This is such a dark, emotional and raw piece..I liked the randomness in it the the most and the sense of pain and despair.

ooo this made me cringe
the title caught my attention right away, the darkness, much like anger, the insanity, brings out the worst in people.
aritficial light always hurts my eyes too, id sit there in skewl with sunglasses on sometimes lol,
this was a great write i throughly enjoyed it
and can relate
not a fun place to be
but one day, it goes away.....

Deep and dark, nice flow and imagery, the poem does touch a nerve. is it a poem on depression? Also the endless circle, the first stanza and last stanza, a continous flow. :) nice touch.
