A Story Told In WhispersA Poem by Ruby MoonA story told in whispers, Where fantasy and reality becomes one, Of lovers and sinners, But in truth is one. From walks lighted by the moon, And grand dances in a court, To kisses stolen witnessed by the moon, That is the way they court. Pain and sorrow rules their life, A burden to bear for all that is and was there, Those precious few times that they lived life, Memories haunt them from here to there. Forget, they chose to, To allow themselves relive, And freedom to, Be allowed to freely live. Can they really be blame? For seeking comfort by forgetting, A strong flame, To keeps them going. Going back to the place they started, By a lake in the realm of mortals, Had a pair of sworn enemies startled, As fell in love these two immortals. A love not meant to be, Came to be in this realm, Sweet as honey from a bee, Reason, overwhelm. Was it worth the pain and the sorrow? Like a boat drifting, That can’t be row, Along time, drifting. Was it worth? To have the tiniest taste of love, Of unmeasured worth, Only to have it snatched by those jealous of love.
