Lover

Lover

A Poem by Ruby Moon

In a forest, a cold bleak forest.

With only a black crow as my companion,

The bearer of news for Death…

My friend, my hated message bearer,

Bearing me news of Death found in the world.

The glorified Death,

I wait for the return of my lover.

My dark cold lover,

I wish for his embrace but I have never felt his touch.

So I wait for him. Everyday I wait…

Dressed in a blood red gown,

A white dress stained with the life wine.

My wings drooping, burdened by blood,

My delicate butterfly wings sad looking.

Red rimmed. My hair blending in to my gown

My pale white face devoid of blood.

A white mask blending into the background.

I wait for my lover,

The lover who will never touch me,

My lover’s name?

You know him as Death

A story within a poem; I think I have 2 like that but not sure. I like how yours turned out. The way you have it written makes it easy to visualize the character, which makes it all the more interesting.

I love the images that came to mind. Real dark fantasy.
'A white dress stained with the life wine.
My wings drooping, burdened by blood.'
Very clever how you used colours like red and white in your description. Very strong visuals.
Great stuff!! :)
