Glass vessel

Glass vessel

A Poem by Ruby Moon

Imagine you are holding a glass still

as water pours in to fill it. It is a lovely vessel

but made of fragile span glass. Only designed

to hold a certain amount... Entranced by how

the water looks as it spills into it.

A falling drop,

meeting the surface and

ripples across the surface...

going outwards and crossing back over

Fuller and fuller the vessel gets

...till a moment when another drop would shatter it

Would you let it overflow and fall as tears, or

would you still hold it in, wanting to see

more, wanting even more yet?

Emotions are like that, entrancing, enthralling

holding your attention till its almost overflowing.

Then, it becomes unbearable... till you shatter or cry
