![]() Round A Round the RosesA Poem by Ruby Moon![]() Just something random ^-^![]() I look at you, and you at me... laughing and playful banter... while our hands crept towards each other Moving across the vast distance of the table... a millimetre at a time, barely moving at all There! Suddenly! The touch of your skin on mine All the awkwardness melting away, bring me back to the days of olden Of fair folks watching over us play in the secret place of ours... Do you remember? A memory flashes in my mind’s eye Flashes and yet branded... as new as the fresh dewdrop at dawn A moving picture of a boy and a girl laughing, playing... reaching for each other’s hand without hesitation Of distances crossed in an instant, of trust and openness Twirling round in circles, sure of each other not letting go “Round a round the roses”... leafs playing in the whirl of wind kicked up “pocket full of posies”... freshly picked flowers falling out, marking a trail Out of breath now “...and we all fall down” collapsing in a pile of laughter A smile on my lips now, I move to hold your hands surely a silent realisation... We are still dancing the same dance
