From "me" to you...

From "me" to you...

A Poem by Ruby Moon

I see you… clearer than you ever wanted anyone to.

You endeavor to hide your flaws, your imperfections… your beauty.

I watch you put on your masks,

…and when you remove them at the end of the day.

I try my hardest to show you your beauty, but you refuse…

you see only what you want to see.

I mimic your mannerism, hoping that

you’ll see the grace that is inherent to you

…but you only see a mockery.

For years, I stood by helpless as I watch you get seduced and learn to hate me.

Seduced by glossy magazine covers, pictures and articles…

but I am loyal and I am patient… I’ll stand in front of you day in and day out,

till you learn to love me again, your reflection in the mirror.
