Moon

Moon

A Poem by Ruby Moon

Who do you think you are?

Up high and mighty in the sky,

teasing the Gods and mortals alike.

A radiant beauty on velvet’s sky...

Songs and rhymes pay you praise,

the elusive lady dancing high.

Not merely a passing phrase,

even if so, always on peak’s high.

Shine bright and lovely in the sky

Running all the time from the sun

Think you own everything beneath the sky?

Don’t forget who made you bright

oh! this is such a unique piece.
Seems like you are cursing the moon with all of its qualities.
Brilliant use of metaphor.

"Think you own everything beneath the sky?

Don't forget who made you bright" -Awesome ending.

This entire piece came from your heart...with even the emotion of anger...
And the way you've poured it in the piece is really tremendous.
A superb read

just keep writing :)

This was very interesting. It was as if the subject was paying the moon praise, against her own will, but not able being able to deny the natural beauty nonetheless. However, the moon comes off as being arrogant with a "don't hate me because I'm beautiful attitude" which I think the subject finds tiresome. Very well done.

You really do think left-of-centre, don't you? LOL. Very enjoyable and original.
I sensed envy but also admiration for the moon.
The rhythm seemed to change throughout, was that on purpose? I liked the way it read regardless of this, but I was just curious.
Thanks for sharing. Glad you are still writing.
