The Sun, the Moon, and the Stars

The Sun, the Moon, and the Stars

A Poem by ShelbyLanai
"

Just something really random. i hope it sounds okay (:

"
She picked the Moon from the sky,
Placing the stars in your eyes.
She stole the Sun,
And put the warmth in your heart.

So, now as I lay here
I think about what the world is like.
No Sun, no Moon, no Stars.
My hands are empty.

The sky is to quiet.
The night is to lonely.
The day to dark.
The sounds to lifeless.

I wished she would take the stars from your eyes,
Put them back in the sky.
I wished she would take the warmth from your heart,
And return the Sun.

She had stolen the Moon, my heart and soul.
Picked it apart, and made it dull.
The Sun doesn't heat the Earth.
The warmth doesn't lull.

Interesting perspective. Sounds like someone transferred their affections from one person to another and in the process completely neglected the other person. Now that person who is also the voice in the poem would like that affection back. Very creative and visually stunning poem anyway you interpret it.
